Cutty
Sark fire - 21st May 2007
On
21st May 2007 at around 5am, one of Greenwich's greatest monuments,
the Cutty Sark, caught fire leaving the charred remains of the World's
finest tea clipper.
Fortunately
fifty percent of the structure - timbers, masts and figureheads had
been removed for restoration in November 2006. But the fire still
presents a major setback for the work ahead.
We're all shocked by the news, and wish all at the Cutty Sark Trust
the very best of luck restoring her back to her former glory.
If you would like to make a donation to the Cutty Sark's restoration,

The
Cutty Sark has been the site for many of Taiko Meantime's performances.
